Description
The 7S / 9S series is one of the latest developments in sensors with a separating diaphragm. The new lightweight monolithic housing has become even smaller, while the entire design remains made of stainless steel, and production costs have been reduced. The sensors have excellent long-term stability combined with a convenient mounting design.
The 7S / 9S series can be installed in a housing using an O-ring seal or welded to it. Welding should be done on the flange at the base of the sensor. With proper installation, all specified characteristics will be preserved. The O-ring seal can be fixed directly behind the flange or with secondary seals on the front side of the sensor. If space is limited, the flange can be reduced or completely removed.
The thin housing and external design prevent mechanical stresses and strains from being transmitted to the sensitive element. The design also has excellent thermal conductivity, so the sensor is exposed to a temperature as close as possible to the process temperature.
Sensors of the 7S / 9S series are made of 316L stainless steel using high-temperature hydrogen brazing; the brazed diaphragms made of 316L stainless steel are highly resistant to corrosion. The 9 FL series uses laser welding of the diaphragm to the housing. Electrical connection is made through five contacts. Wires or printed circuit boards can be soldered directly to the sensor. Sensors of the 7SE / 9SE series are supplied with an integrated printed circuit board.
Each sensor undergoes full temperature and pressure cycles during the calibration process and is supplied with an individual certificate (except versions 9 SE / 9 FLE). Special sensor tests can be performed upon customer request.
