Industrial Sensors

Sensors used in industry are divided into several main types:

Temperature Sensors in Industry

Used to measure the temperature of the environment. Most often these are thermocouples, resistive temperature detectors (RTD), thermistors. They are used in many industries to control the temperature of technological processes, storage of products and raw materials.

Pressure Sensors

Application of Sensors in Industry

Other common types of sensors used in industry:

• Vibration Sensors. Measure vibration, noise, and acceleration. Used for monitoring the condition of technological equipment and identifying potential problems. These include accelerometers, vibrometers, etc.
• Displacement Sensors. Measure linear, angular displacement, and position. These are inductive, capacitive, magnetic sensors, position sensors, etc. Used in positioning and automation systems.
• Leak Sensors. Detect leaks of gases, vapors, and liquids. These include infrared, nuclear, fluorescent sensors. Used for monitoring the tightness of technological equipment and pipelines.
• Motion Sensors. Detect presence and movement of objects. These are pyroelectric, microwave, infrared motion sensors. Used for activating lighting, alarms, and other systems.
• Magnetic Field Sensors. Measure the magnitude and direction of magnetic fields. Used to determine the position and trajectory of moving parts of technological equipment.
• And others (pH sensors, presence sensors, flow sensors, etc.)

All this diverse sensor technology allows precise control of industrial process parameters and equipment, detecting deviations and potential problems.

Control and Measuring Instruments in Industry

Control and measuring instruments (CMI) play an important role in industry. They are designed for measuring, controlling, regulating, and recording technological parameters of production processes.

Main types of CMI:

• Pressure measuring instruments - manometers, differential manometers, vacuum gauges, etc. Measure the pressure of gases, vapors, and liquids.
• Thermometers and thermocouples - for measuring temperature. Used widely in technological processes.
• Flow meters - measure the volumetric flow of raw materials, products, gases, vapors, and liquids. Turbine, rheological, magnetic, ultrasonic, and others.
• Level sensors - determine the filling level of tanks, hoppers, and other containers. Float, capacitive, magnetic, ultrasonic, etc.
• Scales, dynamometers, and force meters - for weighing and measuring force.
• Tachometers, frequency meters - measure the rotational speed of mechanisms.
• Analyzers - for determining the composition of raw materials, materials, and products. Gas, liquid, infrared, and others.
• Automatic regulators, controllers, and control systems - ensure maintenance of specified technological parameters.
• Recording devices - for recording sensor readings and measuring transducers over extended periods.

All these CMIs allow precise measurement and regulation of industrial process parameters, improving product quality and reducing resource consumption. They are widely used in all industrial sectors.
