Digital Pressure Gauges

Digital Manometers

Digital manometers are high-tech devices designed for precise measurement of liquid and gas pressure. Unlike mechanical counterparts, they provide instant and accurate readings displayed on a digital screen. Such devices are widely used in industry, energy, fuel and energy complex, laboratories, and metrology centers.

Principle of Operation and Advantages of Digital Manometers

Electronic manometers operate based on piezoelectric, strain gauge, or capacitive sensors that convert mechanical pressure into an electrical signal. This provides several key advantages:

• High accuracy – measurement error ranges from 0.01% to 0.5%, significantly surpassing mechanical models.
• Ease of data reading – large LCD with backlight allows operation in low light conditions.
• Additional functions – recording minimum and maximum values, averaging readings, switching measurement units (bar, MPa, psi, kgf/cm²).
• Durability – absence of mechanical friction parts increases service life.
• Wide measurement range – from -1 to 2000 bar depending on the model.
• Integration capability with automation systems – data transmission via RS-485 or analog output (4…20 mA).

Applications of Digital Manometers

These devices are used in various sectors:

1. Industry – pressure control in pipelines, compressors, hydraulic systems.
2. Energy – monitoring pressure in boilers, heat exchangers, cooling systems.
3. Metrology Centers – verification and calibration of pressure measuring instruments.
4. Automotive Industry – diagnostics of fuel systems, tires, air conditioners.
5. Medicine and Pharmaceuticals – pressure control in sterile systems.
6. Scientific Research and Laboratories – precise measurements in experimental setups.

Types of Digital Manometers

1. Portable Manometers

• Compact, powered by batteries or accumulators.
• Ideal for mobile use and fieldwork.

2. Stationary (Panel) Manometers

• Installed on equipment for continuous monitoring.
• Have a sturdy case and vibration protection.

3. Multifunctional Manometers

• Measure not only pressure but also temperature.
• Equipped with memory and graphical displays.

4. Explosion-Proof Manometers

• Designed for hazardous environments (oil and gas, chemical industry).
• Certified: TR TS 012/2011, ATEX, IECEx.

How to Choose a Digital Manometer?

When purchasing, consider:

• Measurement range – should cover working values.
• Accuracy class – from 0.01% (precision) to 1.0% (general industrial).
• Type of measured medium – water, oil, gas, aggressive liquids.
• Operating conditions – temperature, humidity, vibrations.
• Additional features – backlight, dust and moisture protection (IP67), PC connectivity.
