Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) – is a set of technologies for maintaining certain air parameters: temperature, humidity, and chemical composition in indoor spaces. The HVAC system – is an important component in the design of industrial and administrative buildings, where safe and comfortable temperature and humidity conditions are maintained by supplying outdoor air. The two main tasks of HVAC systems are, firstly, to create and maintain a comfortable indoor climate, and secondly, to save the energy consumed for this purpose. To accomplish these tasks, HVAC systems actively use control and measuring instruments.
To maintain a comfortable indoor climate, the HVAC system needs to accurately know the air parameters inside the room. For these purposes, humidity, temperature, and carbon dioxide concentration sensors are usually used. The more accurate and reliable these instruments are, the closer the indoor climate will be to ideal.
Microclimate parameters are regulated by changing the temperature (heating and air conditioning) and supplying fresh air to the room (ventilation). To ensure that the volume of supplied air exactly matches the required amount and that the ventilation system does not consume excess electricity, air flow meters are installed in the ventilation ducts, the readings of which are used to control the operation of fans.
