Description

Miniature pressure sensors are specially designed by KELLER for measuring hydrodynamic and aerodynamic pressure over a wide frequency range. This design allows obtaining high-level data at a comparatively low cost. The compact design enables measurements directly at points of interest, which is significantly more accurate than remote placement of measurement points. The sensitive element is a highly sensitive piezoresistive chip with a silicon micro-layer. The chip is housed in a stainless steel case, and to protect it from the environment, the chip is coated with a thin layer of silicone elastomer. Power supply and output signal are routed from the side or rear of the sensitive element.

2Mi sensors can be easily fixed at the installation site using adhesive bonding. The sensor power supply can be constant voltage or constant current. The high output signal level allows the use of standard amplifiers to obtain an already amplified output signal in current or voltage.

Combining sensors into a single measurement circuit

KELLER has the capability to independently install sensors on customer equipment (for example, turbine blades), using both the 2Mi series of miniature sensors and directly mounting the piezoresistive chips themselves (without housing) when installation space is severely limited. The created profile can be guaranteed by KELLER after installation and connection of all sensors.

Applications

Pressure measurement by sensors placed on turbine blades for analyzing powerful jet flows, dynamic measurement of aircraft and helicopter profiles, vehicles, high-speed trains, production of Pitot tubes and multi-directional velocity probes, as well as sensors for compact submersible data loggers, etc.
