Description
The CMM 500 flow meter is a new type of device specifically designed for high-precision measurement of the volume of air delivered by a compressor and for accounting compressed air consumption.
The CMM 500 flow meter can be used both directly after the compressor to measure the flow of wet compressed air, and as a meter to measure the consumption of dry compressed air and calculate resource flow.
The flow meter design is based on a Venturi tube that meets all the requirements of the ISO 5167-3 standard regarding dimensional accuracy and surface quality. The internationally recognized ISO 5167 standard provides recommendations for accurate flow measurement using flow meters based on the differential pressure principle. Venturi tubes are extremely reliable, easy to handle, and require no special maintenance.
The main advantages of the Venturi tube compared to many other measurement systems are minimal pressure losses at high differential pressures, as well as shorter straight lengths before and after the flow meter.
The uniqueness of the device lies in its wide dynamic range of 1:130 and an error of less than 0.5% of the measured value (in the range from 0.2 of the maximum flow to the limit flow value).
The compact design, as well as the long-term reliability and high accuracy of the stainless steel diaphragm pressure sensors used, form the basis for accurate measurement of operating compressed air flow, operating volume, flow and volume normalized to standard conditions, pressure, differential pressure, and temperature using just one device.
The built-in valve block allows maintenance (zero point adjustment, condensate drain, sensor replacement for calibration) or repair at any time directly on site, even when the system is under pressure.
Advantages and Features
- Error less than 0.5%, DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 conformity certificate
- Wide dynamic range 1:130
- Fast response time, peak detection, no time delay for adaptation as with ultrasonic flow meters
- No long straight sections required before and after the flow meter
- Very low pressure losses less than 70 mbar at maximum flow
- Flow meter suitable for any gas media (with gas density adjustment)
- Operating pressure up to 10 bar, 30 bar, or 100 bar
- Direct output of volumetric flow normalized to standard conditions in n.m³, n.m³/h (according to DIN 1343 or ISO 1217 standards)
- Additional outputs: temperature display in °C or °F, pressure and differential pressure in bar or psi
- Digital interfaces Modbus-RTU, Modbus TCP, POE, MBus, HART and analog output 4...20 mA
