Description
The sensor on the K30 platform, in the basic CO2 Engine® K30 FR version, is used in a wide range of systems. The platform is designed as an OEM module for embedded control equipment applications and can be adapted to customer requirements. This document describes a specific model of this platform optimized for fast-response CO2 Engine® K30 FR measurements.
CO2 Engine® K30 FR is a high-performance, linear CO2 sensor with a short response time. It is specially designed for equipment where rapid CO2 measurement updates are required. The sample cell is well protected by a particle filter and is designed for fast diffusion without the need for external pumping. Additionally, there is an intake tube for real-time monitoring. Despite the very precise and reliable infrared gas sensing technology, the design is low cost.
The sensor is intended to operate at a stabilized voltage from 4.5 to 14 V, provided that the regulation line and power supply loads remain within ±5%. Under normal operation, the sensor measures CO2 concentration twice per second. The measurement register can be monitored via the I2C bus or UART serial interface. The measured CO2 concentration is processed by a configurable digital filter and is also output to analog linear voltage outputs.
