Description
The M8cool HB series pressure transducers with a dynamic range of 0…50 kHz and M8 thread are optimized for both dynamic (e.g., pulsation) and static pressure measurements. The sensor design ensures perfect compatibility with the medium and allows measurements at temperatures up to 1000 °C with cooling.
Electronic Components
The M8cool HB series transducer chips are designed to leverage the high dynamic range of the M5 sensor. Although the signal is retuned in real time via a high-precision digital compensation circuit, it remains fully analog. This maintains the full dynamic range and high signal accuracy across the entire bandwidth from 0 to 50 kHz. The remote signal converter, operating at temperatures from -40 to +125 °C, meets the special requirements of aggressive environments, such as engine test benches. The sensor alone, equipped with an 80 mV analog output (at 1 mA supply), is also suitable for these applications. In this configuration, the sensor is supplied with a card providing the user with data obtained from factory calibration (M8cool series).
Sensor Technology
The M8cool series transducers are based on a robust silicon sensor soldered on the back directly to a reference element designed to ensure perfect hydrodynamics. This design eliminates drawbacks associated with the use of sealing materials, adhesives, separating membranes, or capillary tubes in high-temperature environments. To maintain the excellent dynamic range from 0 to 50 kHz, the open membrane installation type is critically important. The micromechanical design provides absolute pressure ranges up to 3, 10, and 30 bar, protection against fivefold overloads, and effective isolation during installation.
