New: 23SX-H2 Series Pressure Transmitter — Reliability and Accuracy in Hydrogen Environments

The company «Izmerkon» presents a new series of high-precision pressure transducers 23SX-H2 — a specialized solution for measuring pressure in hydrogen (H₂) environments. The device is developed based on the proven technology of the pressure sensor 33X series and adapted for operation in conditions where standard sensors quickly fail due to hydrogen embrittlement.

Main Features — Hydrogen Protection

The key difference of the new series is the double protection of the sensitive element from the destructive effects of hydrogen:

  1. Corrosion-resistant steel with high nickel content. The material of the housing and sensor significantly reduces the risk of metal embrittlement caused by hydrogen.
  2. Gold-plated diaphragm (membrane). Minimizes hydrogen diffusion inside the sensor, ensuring long-term stability of readings.

High Accuracy and Intelligent Interfaces

23SX-H2 is not just a protected but also a high-precision device. It is based on an isolated piezoresistive sensor with a fully welded design that eliminates internal seals. Refined mathematical compensation guarantees exceptional stability across the entire operating range.

  • Pressure ranges: from 0...4 to 0...1000 bar (gauge and absolute).
  • High accuracy:
          Basic error at room temperature: ≤ ±0.1% FS
          Total error over extended temperature range (-10…80 °C): ≤ ±0.25% FS.
  • Long-term stability is ≤ ±0.15% FS per year.
  • Digital and analog interfaces:
          Built-in RS485 interface supporting Modbus RTU and KELLER bus protocols for digital data transmission and parameter configuration.
          Ability to combine with analog outputs: 4-20 mA, 0-10 V, 0-5 V.
          Analog signal scaling function via digital interface.
  • Wide temperature range: measured medium from -40 to 125 °C.
  • Reliability and protection:
          High vibration resistance (10 g, 10…2000 Hz) and shock resistance (50 g).
          Enclosure protection rating: IP67 (for M12 connector) and IP65 (for DIN 43650 connector).
          Optional intrinsically safe version (Ex ia) for explosive environments, certified according to ATEX and IECEx standards.
