The multilayer protective screen is used to protect weather monitoring sensors and provides the most accurate climate measurement results. The Stevenson screen of unique design minimizes solar radiation exposure on the sensor, minimizes radiation absorbed by the screen, and maximizes ambient airflow around the weather station sensor.
The surface exposed to sunlight is made of plastic, durable and resistant to ultraviolet radiation. The inner surfaces of the screen are made of matte black plastic to minimize internal reflections. The large diameter of 210 mm with 14 plates provides full protection for the measuring sensor.
- Protective housing Cometeo F8000 is equipped with large diameter plates — 210 mm, providing full protection for measuring instruments located inside a cylindrical space with a diameter of 110 mm.
- Stevenson screen F8001 is a universal, ventilated protective cover designed to protect measuring sensors with diameters from 13 to 18 mm from weather conditions.
- If necessary, protective covers with mounting bushings can be purchased for sensors of different sizes. F8004 is a version with four bushings. Versions 2 and 3 can be used with most devices and sensors, for example, Vaisala, Rotronic.

COMET System has established cooperation with Masaryk University in Brno and participates in its research at the Czech polar station "Johann Gregor Mendel," located on James Ross Island.
The U3121 data logger and temperature and humidity sensors are used for measurements in Antarctic conditions, where temperatures drop significantly below zero. The entire set is housed in the COMETEO F8800 enclosure, which protects the data logger and sensors in extreme conditions.
The U0141 data logger is used as an additional measuring device with temperature sensors. These sensors can measure both air temperature and temperature directly above the surface.
