Pressure Transmitter Sensors for Fuel

Pressure Transducer Sensors for Fuel – Material Choice is Crucial

Aggressive liquids and gases pose a special challenge for pressure measurement technology. For this reason, sensors adapted to specific measurement conditions are required. With Keller pressure transducer sensors for fuel, you can always be confident in your choice.

A characteristic feature of pressure sensors is their design. Various mechanical and electrical components can be combined according to the specifics of the measurement medium, location, and other factors. This is necessary to optimally support the operation of the sensitive element under pressure and ensure accurate measurements.

The basis for this is high-quality piezoresistive sensitive membranes, using sealing rings. This design allows for many different combinations. Depending on the sensor’s usage environment, the material of the sealing ring also changes to optimally adapt the pressure sensors for specific measurements.

For use in aggressive environments such as diesel fuel, gasoline, or high-pressure operations, the use of sealing rings becomes inconvenient. Under such conditions, the sensor must have a solid welded design. For this reason, a welded version of pressure sensors for fuel was developed. In this case, no internal seals are needed to secure the sensor inside the sensor housing.

The range of pressure sensors for fuel can be seen in our catalog.

Sensors without sealing rings can be offered in a wide variety of design variations. In the accuracy class from 0.05% FS to 0.5%, the pressure sensor is available in nominal pressure ranges from 0...100 mbar to 0...1000 bar and with analog (4...20 mA, 0.5...4.5 V, 0...10 V) or digital (CANopen, RS485) output signals.
Sensors are also calibrated in two temperature ranges: 0...50°C (standard) or -10...80°C. In both temperature ranges, the error from full-scale measurement is guaranteed to be no more than <0.2%. Optionally, another temperature compensation range can be selected, for example -40…50°C.

Thanks to their compact and robust design, the range of Keller pressure transducers allows our customers to configure these sensors according to their tasks and technical requirements. Regardless of the electrical connection, a wide range of mechanical connections is available. Due to their technical specifications, these sealing-free pressure sensors are suitable for use in aggressive environments for various applications in instrumentation, mechanical engineering, as well as in test bench equipment.
