New line of flow meters CS Instruments

CS Instruments has introduced a new line of thermal anemometric flow meters. Some of them are improved versions of previous models, while others are completely new devices designed to solve new extraordinary tasks. The new CS flow meter series consists of the following four devices:

VA500. This flow meter is an improved version of the well-established VA400 device. It has all the advantages of the previous version (ease of installation and repositioning of the flow meter, including under pressure, the ability to measure on pipelines of various diameters with one device, the ability to measure different gases). At the same time, the new VA500 model has a number of advantages and improvements compared to the VA400:

The flow meter accuracy has increased to 1.5% of the measured value + 0.3% of the upper measurement limit (VA400 – 4%+0.3%). The precision version accuracy is 1%+0.3%.
In addition to the analog 4…20 mA signal, the VA500 is also equipped by default with a digital Modbus interface.
All electronic components of the flow meter responsible for processing the primary signal have been redesigned and improved and now record all data electronically. Thanks to this, the high accuracy of the flow meter is maintained even at high dynamic range values up to 1:1000.

VA520. This is an improved version of the insertion flow meter VA420. It has the same advantages as the VA500: built-in Modbus interface and improved electronics. Unlike the VA500, this device can be installed on small diameter pipelines, down to 1/4". The flow meter can have either threaded or flanged connections.

VA550. This is a new flow meter for critical and non-standard applications. This device has many advantages not inherent in other CS Instruments flow meters.

The sensitive element of the device is housed in a sturdy casing, so all parts of the flow meter in contact with the medium are made of stainless steel. This makes the device perfectly suitable for use in many aggressive environments.
The operating temperature of the device is from -40° to +180°C, which makes it possible to use it in harsh climatic conditions and also allows measurements of hot gas. An optional version with an upper operating temperature limit of up to +350°C is also available.
The upper operating pressure limit of the flow meter can now reach up to 100 bar (optional).
The device is equipped by default with two analog 4…20 mA outputs (for transmitting flow and temperature data), as well as a pulse output and a digital Modbus output. Other digital data transmission interfaces are optionally available: HART, Profibus DP, ProfiNet, Ethernet.
The device can be made explosion-proof (ATEX II 2G Ex d IIC T4). The optical display keys function even through the protective glass, allowing the flow meter to be configured in hazardous areas without opening the device housing.
For measuring flow, for example, of natural gas, a version of the flow meter with DVGW approvals is available.

VA570 is an insertion variant of the VA550 flow meter and has all the above-mentioned advantages of this device. The flow meter is suitable for installation on pipelines with diameters from 1/4" to 2" and can have either threaded or flanged connections.
