The German company SCHMIDT Technology has carried out a scheduled update of its product line. The flow meters SS 30.300, SS 30.301, SS 30.302, and SS 30.303 (now discontinued) have been replaced by the flow meters IL 30.005, IL 30.010 MPM, IL 30.015 MPM, and IL 30.020 MPM, the announcement of which we made in April
SCHMIDT® flow meters of the IL 30.0xx series, like the previous SS 30.30x series, are designed as sensors integrated into pipelines. The new sensors use the same reliable thermal anemometric measurement principle; however, the new series also implements the promising multi-point measurement technology (Multi-Point-Measurement). The measuring section consists of two parallel sensor holders, each equipped with two high-precision independent flow sensors. Between the holders is a temperature sensor for the measured medium.
Thanks to the radial arrangement of four measuring points, the new device provides stable and accurate readings even in complex pipeline sections (short and curved pipeline sections). The MPM technology allows flow measurement in areas where a flow meter with another measurement principle would not work correctly.
This solution helps avoid unnecessary expenses on adapting the pipeline to the flow meter’s requirements.
The SCHMIDT® InLine flow meter with Multi-Point-Measurement technology determines the flow, after which data can be immediately taken via 4 … 20 mA / pulse output. No additional pressure or temperature measurements of the measured medium are required. It is also worth noting that the device measures both the flow and temperature of clean air and gases at system pressures up to 16 bar (gauge pressure).
