The ability to connect compressed air and gas flow meters to process control systems is increasingly becoming a mandatory requirement for such devices.
Therefore, flow sensors of the VA 550 and VA 570 series are now available in versions equipped with an Ethernet interface. Previously, these flow meters only had an analog 4...20 mA output, a pulse output, and a Modbus (RS485) digital interface. Optionally, the devices can also be supplied in a PoE (Power over Ethernet) version. PoE sensors do not require a separate power supply to operate.
Among other things, the following information can be transmitted via the Ethernet interface:
- Current flow rate in m³/h, m³/min, l/min, l/s, kg/h, etc.
- Cumulative flow in m3, l, kg
- Medium temperature in °C (°F)
- Serial number, date of last calibration, date of next calibration
Minimum, maximum, and average values of flow and temperature
VA 550 and VA 570 are reliable industrial compressed air and gas flow meters designed for use in harsh conditions. The flow meters have a protected sensitive element that is resistant to contaminated air and abrasives, feature a wide operating temperature range up to -40...+180°C, can be supplied in high-pressure versions (up to 100 bar), and in explosion-proof designs. The VA 550 flow meters are of the immersion type, while the VA 570 come complete with a measuring section.
